Main responsibilities
- Perform welding and repair work on various equipment, machinery and metal parts
- Fabricate, assemble and modify parts and structures as needed
- Repair and maintain equipment used on excavation and demolition sites
- Perform MIG/MAG, arc and/or flux-core welding, depending on the equipment and materials
- Read and interpret plans, sketches and measurements when required
- Prepare surfaces, parts and materials before welding
- Perform grinding, cutting and finishing work
- Diagnose problems and propose effective repair solutions
- Ensure the quality and strength of completed work
- Follow health and safety standards and company work procedures
- Keep the work area clean and safe
What we’re looking for
- 3 to 5 years of relevant welding experience
- Strong command of welding techniques and related tools
- Experience with heavy machinery or construction equipment (asset)
- Able to work with different types of metals and parts of various sizes
- Independent, resourceful and practical
- Works well in a team
- Reliable, punctual and committed to quality work
- Valid driver’s licence (asset)
Working conditions
- Permanent, full-time position
- Salary to be discussed, based on experience
- Work in the shop and on job sites
- Equipment and tools provided as needed
- Overtime available depending on contracts and company needs
